The Vision: Cypress Hollow Iowa is a place for Christ-centered rest, reflection, and restoration. We offer personal solitude, group retreats, pastoral counseling and coaching, and quiet retreat space for pastors, missionaries, ministry workers, mission-minded executives, leadership teams, couples, and families. All on a few hundred acres of beautiful Eastern Iowa farmland.
Cypress trees...in Iowa? When we acquired the land for Cypress Hollow, our first order of business was to plant a few small stands of bald cypress trees at key locations on the property. These little cypress groves serve as living, growing reminders of God's restorative work proclaimed in Isaiah 55. We are humbly thrilled to be a part of His work at Cypress Hollow.
Isaiah 55:12-13
For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you shall break into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall make a name for the Lord,
an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
